Homemade Easter Egg Cake
For the shape of this Easter Egg cake I used a 10" round tine. I cut out a 3" diameter from the center using a cookie cutter and approximately 2" deep.
For the bedding nest I used coloured desiccated coconut with green colour. Pour the colour in a sealable bag add coconut, seal bag and shake.
Icing: butter icing and green food colouring. For the nest i used butter icing and brown food colouring.
ICING:
Ice the cutout area of the cake and the depth with the green icing and then sprinkle the green coconut on top. Ice the remainder of the cake with brown. Overlap the green icing slightly over the brown.
Using a fork create a nest effect on the brown icing. (top & sides). I used mini eggs and chicks for decorations.
