Easy Homemade Eeyore Birthday Cake

I made this homemade Eeyore birthday cake for my mom’s birthday. It’s a chocolate cake, with strawberry filling, covered with tinted homemade buttercream frosting. I drew Eeyore with a toothpick, then outlined the picture in black icing. I filled in Eeyore using a star tip.

One interesting thing is that the color of Eeyore’s nose (which looks like a peach or flesh color) is actually made with brown icing gel. I debated what I should do to color this portion, thinking of maybe a light yellow, but then I had the idea – if I used a small amount of brown, I may achieve the right color. I was so happy about the way it turned out.

The side flowers are made of royal icing. Some of the flowers included are apple blossoms, pansies, violets, and daisies. The outlining is a basic shell border.

I had just finished a Wilton course when I made this homemade Eeyore birthday cake, so I am still new at decorating.
