Guitar Cake

My 10 year old grandson is learning to play guitar. I prepared 2 11x15 and one 9X13 cakes. Filled and froze them, prepared a template with the shape of the guitar and attached it to the hard cake with tooth picks then carved it.

Used the small cake to shape the neck of the guitar. Covered the guitar with brown fondant, used dental floss painted in tan for the strings and secured them with decoration parts of the guitar that I made from gum paste.

Also painted the front of the guitar cake in gold to undertone the brown color.
