Coolest Elmo Cake 53

Elmo Cake

This is an Elmo cake that was made for a little boys 1st Birthday! I used the Wilton Elmo shaped pan. This was the first time that I had used a shaped pan and I love it! It made decorating so easy!

I made sure to grease and flour just the bottom of the pan. The woman at the cake shop also suggested that I pour the cake batter in small amounts all around the cake pan and to try to avoid spreading the batter with a spatula. This would ensure that the butter and flour would stay on the shaped pan so my cake wouldn't stick.

It is frosted with buttercream frosting, I bought gel colors from a local cake shop to get the deep colors, the only problem is everyone's mouths were bright red!
