Homemade Elmo Cupcakes and Cake Ideas
Chocolate cake with a chocolate mousse layer and mousse also covered the cake. Use an Elmo image as a stencil, enlarge to the size you need, trace with baking paper, place on top of the fondant using a toothpick go over the lines making sure it leaves an indention on the fondant.
I used fondant again for the eyes and nose. You can use melted chocolate for the mouth and pupils and outline of face. To make the 'hairy' look use a very small circle nozzle and just go crazy with it.
For the cupcakes: I spread a thin layer of red icing on top first so that everything will stick down :)
EYES: Marshmallows for eyes, I did cut them in half, melted chocolate or choc drops for the pupils.
NOSE: Orange coloured fondant.
MOUTH: Dark coloured fondant for the mouth, cut out with a half moon shape and I pinched the corners a little, then piped a little line for the grin.
FACE/HAIR: Small sized circle nozzle again and go crazy.
