Cute Homemade Fairy Birthday Doll Cake

I made this Fairy Birthday Cake for my niece who wanted a fairy cake for her birthday. I started by using a Wilton doll cake pan. I purchased a fairy doll with the colors she wanted. I then baked the cake using the bunt cake times for baking to ensure doneness throughout.

I tinted butter cream icing light pink and green. I then iced the entire cake in the pink icing, saving some for details. The pink details were done using a star tip and a sweeping motion along the bottom. The same was done in the back of the cake from top to bottom giving a ruffled train effect to the dress.

I then used a #2 round tip and green butter cream icing to continue the vine pattern from the bottice onto the front of the dress. The top of the skirt is the skirt that was purchased with the doll. It has a Velcro closure so I used it to finish the dress off. I had to remove the dolls legs, as she was too tall for the cake.

I inserted the doll’s body to the waist and placed the smaller skirt around the waist of the doll to hide the area. I then used regular sugar and sprinkled the entire cake to give it a slight sparkle. My niece LOVED this cake and said I was the “best aunt ever”.
