Easy Homemade Fairy Cake

This fairy cake I did for my daughter Paige’s 1st birthday. We had a whole fairy theme where even the guests had to come dressed in their fairy wings. Even her dad got into the act and came dressed as a beautiful pink fairy, blond wig and all, very beautiful.

This cake I designed myself. I drew up the picture then blew it up to the size that I wanted. I then used it as a template on the cake.

To get the outline I used a tooth pick to push through the paper so that it left little dots that I then used as my outline when adding the colours.

I used butter icing for the whole thing, coloured using a paste from the cake decorating shop.

Her wand was made out of a left over wand cookie that I had made for the party bags. These I brought in a pack from the supermarket. They come with the cookie mix, a star cut out, icing, and icy pole sticks and they look great.
