Homemade Fairy Cake Idea
As you can see this Fairy Cake Idea was my first foray into making flowers and mixing colours! Fortunately my niece thought it magical. She wanted fairies and Unicorns, I found several colouring books that had the subjects in them. I also can NOT draw, so I traced using tracing paper, transferred on to water colour paper (craft store) and use water colour pencils to colour. Then went over them with a wet paint brush - sounds complicated, but it really wasn't.
If I combined all the time it took to draw, colour, and glue them to bamboo skewers - took about an hour. I used some cool paper for the wings. My niece wanted something different than a "flat" cake - so being a cheap aunt that I am, I covered/camouflaged bean cans with painted paper.
There really wasn't a good place to put her name, so I just did the flying fairies.
