Pretty Homemade Fairy Castle Cake

A friend of a friend contacted me and asked me to make a Fairy Castle Cake for her daughter’s 4th birthday. She gave me a link to a video she’s seen on you tube which I watched a few times and decided to try and copy. Well, it worked! And the birthday girl was thrilled! I can’t wait to make this one again!

  1. Hi Can you please share how you made this lovely cake? I would just love to make this for my grand daughters 5th birthday. Also how long did it take you to make this cake?
    Thanks

  2. Hi Anon! I made this using a hexagonal cake tin and a circular tin. I covered each cake and stacked them, then rolled a thick tube if fondant that I cut into threes for the towers before colour ing icing and rolling into spears for turrets. You can also cover ice cream cones! I uses rolled fondant for rocks, doors etc and a small leaf/petal cutter for the vine leaves and a tiny flower cutter for blossoms. My inspiration actually came from a YouTube video of how to make a castle cake. I can’t find the same link now – it was over 2 years ago – but there are still plenty of awesome step by step videos you can follow!! Good luck and have fun! This was one of my first ever cakes – and if I can do it – you can too!!! x
