3 D Fire Truck Cake

This is my first fire truck cake. I used the 12x18 sheet pan - I made 2 cakes (4 cake mixes). I cut each cake in half and filled it with buttercream. The bottom layer has dowels for supports and a cake cardboard is in the middle for extra support.

Most of the decorations I made ahead of time with royal icing. When it was dry I painted them with shimmer dust and vodka (you can use a clear vanilla). The wheels are krispy kreme doughnuts. I bought mini doughnuts to use but they were way too small. After placing them in the cake I piped the black stars with tip #18.
