Cool Homemade Fondant Fish Birthday Cake

I saw this fish birthday cake on this site (originally submitted by Carol). I just had to try it. Where as I don’t think it came out as well as her’s, I was definitely happy with it.

This was the first time I used rice cereal, fondant and air brushing. Making cakes is FUN!

Unfortunately, I did not get a picture with the hook in the cake and the candles lit but it was very impressive – trust me!

  1. You guys did a great job…just wondering> do you use the gel color & alcohol or extract to thin your colors before putting them in your airbrush.
I have a Trout to make out of Gumpaste or Fondant & have had an airbrush for quite some time…but never used it for this. Going to pull it out & give it a try.

Thanks for posting….VERY CREATIVE…not just your “run of the mill cake”!
