Cool Homemade Floral Wedding Cake

I had this floral wedding cake for my sister’s wedding. She wanted a cherry blossom tree or branch on it. I was so sick of seeing pink everywhere so I changed it up and did orange flowers. I made fondant to cover the cake and for the brown branch. The flowers I made out of gum paste and just got some orange ribbon from a craft shop.

I covered the cake in white fondant that I made. It was really easy to make. I just followed all the youtube videos I found.

The flowers are made from gum paste. I did two shades of orange, then to brake it up I got gold food coloring and I also added a little green on some of the branches to make it look somewhat really.

The branches are made from brown fondant. I didn’t use gum paste because it gets too hard and the fondant stays a little soft but not too soft and stuff it on with water.

The ribbon I used was from a craft shop. I put tape on the back because I was going to use butter cream to stick it on but then I just got little pins and pined it to the back because I thought that the butter cream would just see through the ribbon.

For a few little touches I dusted some edible gold glitter on the flowers and sliver glitter all on the cake to give it some shine.

The cake was a big hit!
