Homemade Flower And Lady Bug Cake

A friend wanted a ladybug cake for her daughter's birthday. I explained, however, that black and red icing usually isn't the most tasty of combinations, nor the most appetizing. So I came up with a compromise of a flower and lady bug cake.

I used a Wilton daisy flower cake pan to make the daisy. I used a Wilton small soccer ball cake pan to make the ladybug. I used tinted spaghetti noodles to make the ladybug antennae. I covered the base of the daisy with leaf shaped icing using a leaf tip.

It turned out just adorable and the birthday girl loved it!
