Coolest Fondant Princess Castle Cake

This Fondant Princess Castle Cake is my first complicated try with fondant. I made the marshmallow fondant and covered two 6″rounds and 2 9″ squares. I also made candy gems using a silicone mold-A lot of work but worth it, be careful because the colored gems dripped after I brushed a little water on them to make them shine.

I also made a homemade chocolate cake for the 16″ round base and covered it with chocolate buttercream. Now the turrets! What fun to make these chocolate cakes in a cookie tin that made a perfect cylinder.I sprayed them good and only filled them about 1/4 because they rise. I covered them with buttercream and then used a cobblestone press mold on chocolate fondant. The turrets tasted fabulous. I dipped the sugar cones in almond bark to coat and added wands (party favors) from a party store.

I got many ideas from this wonderful site! I put about 20 hours into this cake!
