Fun Homemade Football Field Cake

I wanted to do a football field cake for my husband’s birthday. I used (2)11x15x2 cake pans, and 4 Betty Crocker mixes (2 for each layer).

I used Wilton brand frosting tubes for the black, and red. Homemade buttercream frosting for the green, brown and white. The goalposts were made of sucker sticks that I tied together, and then covered in white paper. I stuck toothpicks on the bottoms to stick into the cake. I super glued two candles on each of them.

  1. You did an awesome job on this cake! I’m going to make one for my 7 year old’s bday party. I have never decorated a cake before so this will be the first. It looks pretty simple! Just need to figure out what to use for the goal posts! I think I’m going to make 2 9X13 pans, one chocolate, and one confetti cake and put them together to make a bigger one. Hope this works for me!
