Homemade Football Stadium Birthday Cake
I made this Football Stadium Birthday Cake for my grandson's 8th birthday. He is a huge New England Patriots fan so I thought he would love this stadium cake. I made the white almond sour cream cake because it has a very moist, dense texture which is great for carving and decorating and taste delicious!
I made 3 11 x 15 cakes. One was for the field and the other 2 I stacked on top of each other and then cut into 3 long pieces. I then put those pieces around the base and carved out the stadium. For the stands and fans, I cut fondant into squares, brushed melted white chocolate and sprinkled with round colored sprinkles. The football players were teddy grahams that I piped on frosting uniforms.
The field was made by using a grass tip and all the of writing was with melted white chocolate. It took me 12 hours to put this all together but boy it was a very fun 12 hours and the look on his face was priceless.
