Homemade Frog Birthday Cake
This Homemade Frog Birthday Cake is a 10" double layer cake. I covered the cake in a light brown buttercream. I made the little frogs out of fondant that I colored green. I made them after watching a tutorial on you tube. The biggest frog has a party hat on for the occasion.
The reeds were made with spaghetti at different lengths with brown fondant tips. I colored fondant with very little black to make river rocks. I added toad stools and lily pads. I made the lily flowers with a flower cutter from a kit. I rolled lighter green fondant out and cut some grass and made little lady bugs that I placed on a lily pad and river rock. I piped some of the light brown buttercream in the shape of a pond and I colored piping gel blue and filled it in. I sprinkled brown sugar for the dirt.
I made little signs on the front for the occasion which was a retirement and I used the grass tip and piped grass all along the bottom.
