Homemade Frog Prince Cake

Homemade Frog Prince Cake

My daughter loves frogs, so for her 6th birthday we had a Frog Prince birthday party! The Frog Prince Cake was pretty easy to make.

Frog Body:
I made two 9x13 cakes, once cooled I stacked them using frosting to "glue" them together. The entire body was sculpted free-hand.

Frog Eyes:
The eyes were simply marshmallows stuck on the top of the head using frosting. I used black gel icing for the pupils.

Icing Body & Eyes:
After the body was sculpted and the eyes were in place, I frosted the entire cake (with exception of half of the head) with a light green frosting. Use green gel icing and draw lines on the feet to make the toes.

Icing Mouth:
Mix a light yellow color and frost the bottom half of the mouth and then use a red licorice rope to separate the green and yellow icing.

Crown:
Take a piece of yellow construction paper and curl it into a cone shape, then cut the rest free style.

I hope you enjoy making this cake as much as I did, and I hope the party loves it!
