Coolest Homemade Golliwog Cake

I made this cake for my boyfriends birthday. I made the legs from a thick cardboard tube that I cut in half and covered with fondant icing that I painted stripes onto.

I baked two medium bowl shaped sponges and two small bowl shaped sponges from scratch (not using packet mixes). I stuck them all together with jam and butter cream.

The balloons were small water bombs blown up and kebab skewers were used to hold them in place. I then dressed him with coloured fondant icing.

My boyfriend was flatted at his cake and enjoyed biting into his head.
