Homemade Graduation Book Cake

I made this Graduation Book Cake for a friend. Three 1/4 sheet filled cakes. The top was trimmed to be smaller.

I used fondant to cover all three, stacked and decorated. Very pleased with it. Not bad for a first shot!

I wanted to say job well done, and maybe ask if you had any tips? I'm about to try putting fondant on my first cake. Need any tips you could possibly have.
