Homemade Graveyard Birthday Cake Design
This Homemade Graveyard Birthday Cake Design was for my niece’s sweet 16 birthday. She wanted a grave yard cake. I made homemade marshmallow fondant to cover the cake. I made butter cream icing to decorate. I used gum paste and fondant combination to mold each piece by hand. The pieces were painted with an air gun.
I put the leaves of the flowers around tooth picks so it would fit into the cake. The sides of the cake I used extra fondant to make it look like rocks on the side of the cake. The idea was for the cake to look like the grave yard was coming out of the ground. I used plastic pipe to make the tree with wire then I warped it with gum past and fondant mixture.
