Coolest Guitar Cake

A friend requested me to make a guitar cake. The cake is a chocolate sponge cake and frosted with chocolate cream.

I surfed the net for the guitar picture. I baked the cake using a 10″ square pan for the body and a 6″ by 9″ rectangular pan for the handle.

I traced the outline of the body and cut it according to the shape. Same goes with the handle. The handle turned out to be a little shorter than the picture I had printed.

I used chocolate for the tuner. Melted the chocolate and poured it on a rose chocolate mold. I used a round tip no. 2 for the draw strings.

I created some designs onto the guitar using the open star tip no. 16 and piped the outline of the design using round tip no. 2.

And since the cake board looks rather empty, I decided to make a name plaque out of the balance cake bits and use chocolate star mold as an add-on feature. I also randomly piped the music notes onto the cake board.
