Easy Homemade Hamburger Cake

To make the buns I used yellow cake mix in two round 9″ pans. I put more in one than in the other. The one with the most was for the top bun. I cut all around the top bun to trim the edges and saved the extra to make the fries by cutting it into strips and placing under broil for about a minute.

To ice the buns I used caramel icing. It’s the perfect color. For the sesame seeds I mixed a couple of scoops of white icing with the left over caramel to lighten it up a bit, then used a piping bag with a very small hole to draw them on.

For the hamburger I used a little more than half of a chocolate cake mix in a 9″ pan then iced it with chocolate frosting and stuck cookie crumbs around it to give a burger look.

I finished up by putting some cheese on the burger and ketchup on the burger and fries. The only thing I wish I had done differently was ice the cake pieces separately and then assemble the burger.
