Homemade Hannah Montana Cake
I made this Hannah Montana cake for my friend's niece who is also named Hannah! This was baked in a half sheet pan, and was half white and half chocolate batter. I tilted the pan slightly and poured in the chocolate first since it was a little thicker and then quickly lowered it and poured the white in the other end.
It is an easy way to make a half and half cake. I got the cake idea from a replica Hannah Montana electric guitar. I traced the outline on the cake with dark gel icing, piped black around all of the lines and added the Hannah Montana logo to side of the guitar. I piped stars to fill in the appropriate color and added the white stars, lilac details, and guitar strings. I then piped stars on the remaining cake top.
I spread and smoothed icing on the sides of the cake and then piped the star tip border. Overall it took 1 white cake mix, 1 chocolate cake mix, 1 can of chocolate icing and 5 cans of vanilla icing. I used the chocolate to make a true black by adding a little black food coloring, and I lightened the remainder by adding some of the vanilla as well.
