Homemade Hannah Montana Guitar Cake
I made this Hannah Montana Guitar Cake for a little girl's birthday. It took 4 9x13 cakes. I traced my husband's guitar onto waxed paper, placed 3 cakes long ways, 1 in front of the other. I cut the 4th cake in half & placed it end to end to make the length of the guitar. Placed the cut out on top using toothpicks to keep in place & carved out the shape. I covered in buttercream.
Using homemade fondant I first covered the very top part, then the base, then the neck. I mixed a little of brown color with flavoring and lightly brushed using 1 direction strokes for the wood look. I used silver thread for the strings. I took toothpicks, put a little fondant on the tips, let dry a little, wrapped a bit of thread round the toothpick & placed in the cake then topped with a ball of fondant. You could tighten & loosen the strings like you were tuning it.
