Homemade Harry Potter Cake

This Harry Potter Cake was for a young lady, Jordan's birthday. I simply used two 9x13 cake pans. After layers the two cakes, I cut off about three inches off the length of the cake. I iced the sides which were the "pages" with white icing and used a fork to strike the lines for the pages. The leather book was colored with Wilton brown and then I mixed in a little black with a spoon. I was trying to get a leather look. I free handed the emblems on the book cover on fondant. I think it turned out pretty well.

Jordan was happy!

I really like this cake. Not a fan of fondant, so I like the use of smooth icing. Good Job!
