Coolest Hawaiian Doll Birthday Cake Design

I made this Hawaiian Doll Birthday Cake Design for my granddaughter’s 6th birthday. She was having a Hawaiian theme party so I decided to make a Hula girl. I made the cake from Betty Crocker’s Super Moist Chocolate Fudge mix, as she requested a chocolate cake. I used 2 mixes baking one in a Pampered Chef glass mixing bowl and 1 in 8″ round pans. I refrigerated the cakes before decorating them. I put the cake on a glass pedestal plate. I used one round cake on the bottom and the bowl cake on top with icing in between. I cut a round hole in the center of the cake to put the doll in. I wrapped the inexpensive doll’s legs with plastic wrap and put extra cake pieces in the hole to stabilize the doll. I use buttercream icing tinted green for the crumb coating. I frosted the skirt again in green icing then took a Wilton number 134 tip to pipe the skirt to look like a grass skirt. I used a star tip with pink and peach colored icing for the top and flowers in her hair. I used a smaller star tip with white icing and striped the bag with gold paste food coloring for her lei.

My granddaughter just loved it and now I am making a Barbie doll cake for her sister’s birthday.
