Homemade Hawaiian Luau Birthday Cake

I made this Hawaiian Luau Birthday Cake for my niece's birthday party. It was my first time using gum paste to make the flowers and I was surprised how easy it was. The base is 2 square white cakes filled with a pastry cream and fresh strawberries covered in homemade marshmallow fondant.

The bamboo is also made out of fondant. I put little umbrellas in the bamboo sticks until it was time to sing happy birthday and I switched them to candles.
