Coolest Hello Kitty Birthday Cake

My daughter wanted a Hello Kitty themed party, so of course I had to attempt a Hello Kitty Birthday Cake! I decided to include both Hello Kitty’s head and body, and found an excellent image to copy.

I made two 9 inch round vanilla sponge cakes and printed out the head and body separately to use as templates. I then covered both pieces with a thin layer of buttercream in order to get the icing to adhere. I had fun deciding what colour to make Hello Kitty’s dress, t-shirt and bow, using a flower blossom cutter to cut petals from the excess icing. These I used to frame Kitty on the white tray I was using for presentation.

My daughter was thrilled with her cake!
