I made this Hello Kitty Birthday Cake for a friend’s daughter’s 5th birthday. I used heart shaped pans for the layers. I made the icing following Wilton’s butter cream recipe and its the best I’ve found so far.
The kitty was made from rice krispie treats. I made the head and body in two pieces and the arms and legs are just fondant. I made the fondant myself, its marshmallow fondant, it is fantastic and super easy to make. I found the recipe on allrecipes.com.
The details for Kitty’s face were made from royal icing and the whiskers are flower wire that I colored black. I also made the flowers on the cake with royal icing.
