Homemade Hello Kitty Cake
I made this Hello Kitty Cake for my niece on her 5th birthday. The entire cake is edible, less the wire for the balloon. The hardest part of this cake was the million's of little 3 piece flowers to cut out and place (just a note: it helps to place the flowers if they remain soft).
The chair was molded out of rice crispy and fondant laid over. I created Hello Kitty by using fondant. The cupcakes were simple little treats for kids to take home. This has become a tradition for my niece and nephews birthdays. It gets the whole family involved: Mom bakes the cakes, my sister rolls out the fondant (I'm really horrible with that part of it) and I put the cake together.
