Homemade Hello Kitty Cupcake Cake
This Hello Kitty Cupcake Cake is the first cupcake cake that I made for a little girl's birthday party. The child's mother wanted a Hello Kitty cupcake cake. I searched the internet for pictures of Hello Kitty, one that I knew would be perfect. I decided to test my skills and create the actual shape of Hello Kitty out of cupcakes.
After positioning the cupcakes, using the picture as a model, I piped buttercream (not too thick) to cover all gaps within the cupcakes. Then I used my off-set spatula to smooth the icing making sure the edges were neat. Using the picture as a model, I piped the outline in black icing with a round tip, star tipped the outside edge of the black icing and the body of the character.
I was extremely pleased with the outcome and so was my client!!
