Coolest Homemade Hello Kitty Birthday Cake

I made this Homemade Hello Kitty Birthday Cake for my daughter’s 3rd birthday party.

This is my very first fondant cake and I had no experience working with fondant or decorating.

I found a Hello Kitty picture online and printed it to size. Cut out the head and the body to be used later.

I used 2 9″inch rounds to make the head and the body of the cake. I used Carrot Cake for the head and Devils food cake for the body.

I made buttercream icing and crumb coated it, then made Marshmallow fondant and covered the cake. Then I colored the rest of the fondant (one pink and one blue) and layered on the dress, crown and bows on top. Jelly Beans were used for the eyes and nose, and cut up pieces of Licorice were used for whiskers. I used fruit gushers for the ruby, and Maynards for the decorating at the base of the dress.
