Homemade Ponyville Playground Cake

My daughter, Serenity, is autistic and specifically wanted chocolate cake with chocolate icing so for this Homemade Ponyville Playground Cake I baked the cake and spread a good layer of chocolate icing (from the can, yeah I cheated, sorry) then, made my own version of decorating icing (I say that because I don't properly measure and sometimes the results are different then previous time).

I actually used a star tip to make the water first, then used a small spreader to give it a more watery look. I basically just spread the remaining top of the cake with green tinted icing for grass. Then I inserted craft sticks in the shape of a square for the sandbox. I then filled the sandbox with finely crushed graham crackers.

I used a leaf tip to make intentionally course leaves around the water to make it look kinda like bushes. Used a writing tip for her name. (I don't really go by the numbers on the tips, just more of what looks suitable). Used the remaining canned chocolate icing for a border (pain in the butt too, because the icing melts very easily and tries to pour out of the bag.)

The pony figures were McDonald toys, the seesaw was from a mini My Little Pony playset, and the umbrella table I believe belongs to a Littlest Pet Shop set. Garnish the border with some rainbow flower sprinkles for some extra color and BAM! Recipe to make a girl grin ear to ear.
