Coolest Hoops and Yoyo Cake

Homemade Hoops and Yoyo Cake
My friend and I both love the Hoops & Yoyo characters from Hallmark. We shared our birthday celebration, so I threw this Hoops and Yoyo Cake together last minute. The characters are simple shapes, so it was pretty easy to do. I grabbed an image of these guys from the website, printed as large as I could and drew an outline on the white frosting with a toothpick. I would have preferred to use black gel for the eyes and noses, but I mixed together red and green to make grey instead (was short on time). If I had time to really plan this cake I would have made the characters out of fondant and taken apart one of their talking cards to somehow make the cake talk. That would be really cool!
