Coolest Hula Girl Birthday Cake

I made this Hula Girl Birthday Cake for a 7th birthday. I used the done mold for the hula skirt and a large leaf tip to make the grass for the skirt. I piped the bikini top with a instant flower tip. The flowers were made out of fondant brushed with luster dust and allowed to dry to hard. The base cake is a 12″ round covered in homemade marshmallow fondant tinted deep turquoise blue with a wave accent strip in a darker color around the base. The shells are all molded white chocolate that were made in molds and then attached using some melted chocolate. Brown sugar made the “sand” at the base.

I also used the Wilton large girl pick for the hula girl. The white bubbles are rounded dots of white frosting. I used a lei from the $1 store around the base for more color.
