I made this Iggle Piggle cake for my child’s 1st birthday. The ones in the shops were too small for the amount of guests I had coming to his party. I decided to make one! Iggle Piggle is from ‘In the night garden’, a popular children’s programme in the UK.
The cake was a butter cake mix(2 layers) with a strawberry jam filling. I used a rectangular tin(A4 size). I then covered it in icing (ready to roll).
to make Iggle Piggle I copied a picture from my child’s magazine, I enlarged it then I transferred it to baking paper. I then used that as a template for the icing. For his blanket I used the same icing again, coloured it with red colouring. I made a A5 size then draped it over the edge to make it look like his blanket.

I like this idea for the cake – kinda 2D with a 3D touch.
I was thinking of making a 3D Iggle for my daughter’s b’day, but I am so new to cake deco that I think I will keep it simple with 2D only :)
