Homemade Jem and the Holograms Cake
This is a 2-layer 8” cake covered in purple marshmallow fondant. I printed an image of Jem that I found on the internet, placed waxed paper over it, and piped melted chocolate onto it. When it was dry, I peeled it off the wax paper, turned it over so the flat side was facing up, and placed it on the cake with royal icing. I painted the Jem logo freehand using food colouring.
The stars are cut out of fondant and then painted with water and sprinkled with disco dust. I attached some stars to floral wire with royal icing. The bottom border is made of balls of fondant rolled in disco dust. The wording is all royal icing.
I was very excited to get this order as I was a big Jem fan when I was younger. I could not get the theme song out of my head for days though!
