Homemade Jungle Safari Cake

Homemade Jungle Safari Cake

I actually made this jungle safari cake for a baby shower. I used a different flavor of cake for the top and the bottom. I covered each with buttercream frosting and then covered that with fondant.

For the zebra print, I used white fondant to cover the cake and then cut stripes from a rolled sheet of dyed black fondant. I attached these to the cake using some buttercream as glue.

For the giraffe print, I dyed some fondant yellow and covered the cake. Then I cut random giraffe-spot-looking shapes from some dyed orange fondant and pieced those onto the cake.

I used leftover fondant to create the twisted border strips which I laid around the base of each cake.

There are so many beautiful cakes in this category on this website. I used them to inspire me while making this cake.
