Homemade Kipper the Dog Cake
My daughter just turned one, so we made her a cake of her favorite TV cartoon dog, Kipper.
I started by drawing a sketch of Kipper based on him sitting in front of his basket with his legs in front of him, and a finger to his lips, from the title sequence.
I then printed this out large enough to cover 2 9 inch cake pans. I cut out Kipper's head and body, and fashioned feet and ears from the scraps.
The ears are frosted with chocolate fudge frosting, and the white is butter cream. The orange is lemon that I tinted with food coloring, a little green, lots of red and lots of yellow.
She loved her Kipper the dog cake, she managed to plaster frosting and crumbs all over herself and us!
