Ladybug Cake
I had just bought the soccer ball cake pan and had to try it out so I made a lady bug cake for my nieces 8th Birthday.
I made the lady bug body from 1/2 of the soccer ball cake pan and the head out of a cupcake. I used Wilton red and black icing for the body. I then melted some black in the microwave for 30 seconds (stirred) then poured it over the head.
The head is attached to the body using 3 toothpicks. I used black licorice for his antenas. The leaf I cut from a 9x13" cake and cut the side to make it look like a bite was taken from it then iced it green.
This is one of the easiest cakes I've ever made and all the girls loved and said how cute it was.
