Homemade Ladybug Birthday Cake

I made this Ladybug Birthday Cake for my daughter Tayla, for her 5th birthday.. She wanted a Lady Bug cake so I looked around for some ideas. I saw this idea on a web sight. I changed a couple of things around, so as to not copy completely and to add my own personal touch to it.

I cooked a 11" square mud cake and iced it with chocolate ganache. I then covered it with roll out fondant and cut out circles in 4 different colours to place on the cake for decoration. I rolled out some pink icing to place on the bottom of the cake also.

I then cut out leaves (in different sizes)to place on top of the cake. I made the ladybug and butterflies out of fondant and placed them on top of the cake.

To finish it of I placed three Lillies on the cake to add to the decorations. It was a huge hit and my daughter and our guests loved it.
