Homemade Ladybug Candy Cake

Homemade Ladybug Candy Cake

This homemade ladybug candy cake is a 6" round cake that I decorated with dark chocolate icing. The ladybug wings, head, and antennae were made with dark chocolate candy melts, the red is made with the red candymelts, eyes are mini blue M&Ms.

Candymelts are heated in a plastic bag and then the outline is piped onto a sheet of wax paper, then filled with the red filling, then the brown spots, then cooled. Peel them off the wax paper and decorate the cake with extra icing to hold in place.

The piping work and idea were Jen's. She's the one who should get the credit for the coolness.
