Homemade LEGO Batman Cake
This LEGO Batman Cake was made using three 13x9 cakes (chocolate, vanilla and funfetti flavored). I froze each cake and cut out the shapes the next morning. Each piece was cut out separately to be assembled like real "LEGO" pieces, 1 head, 1 body, 2 arms, 2 hands, 1 belt, and 2 legs.
I tinted white and chocolate icing to make BLACK(chocolate and black gel paste), GRAY(white and small bit of black gel paste), YELLOW(used Yellow icing in the tube) and PEACH(White and a small bit of red and yellow food coloring). I used black gel to add details on the body, belt and face. After each piece was iced, I stuck them all together by piping some extra icing between the pieces.
The last finishing touch was a black felt cape that I attached around his shoulder and onto the cake board. It was a huge hit! And a very memorable cake for my son's 5th birthday.
