Homemade Lightening McQueen Birthday Cake
My son loves the movie Cars. My husband wanted to make him a Lightening McQueen cake, but wanted to something more then the normal cake pan.
He baked two 13 X 9 sheet cakes and one 8 1/2 x 4 1/2. He stacked the 2 large cakes and carved them into the shape of the body of the car. He also carved the smaller cake into the shape of the top of the car. He made McQueen's spoiler using leftover pieces of cake and held them in place using toothpicks.
For the decorating of the Lightening McQueen Birthday Cake, he used tasteless food coloring and designed it using one of the toy cars as a model.
