Homemade Lightning McQueen Cake

This lightning McQueen cake was relatively simple to do but took me lots of time. I used my son's Lightning McQueen radio as a guide for this project. I cooked three 9X13 cakes. Then I cut it to match McQueen shape. I used a fourth cake (chocolate) to cut the wheels.

I had trouble for my icing. Even if I used tons of red colorant, I only got a dark pink. For the windows and the stickers, I used marshmallow fondant. I also used spray colorant to color them. It works really good.

I am really happy about the result. My son was extremely happy. Take your time, have a model beside you and have fun. Everybody can make it.
