My little angel granddaughter was about to turn 7 and what better type of party for a little Diva than well, a Diva Party. I made a two tier cake using 4 layers for the top tier and 3 for the bottom. Each tier was alternating layers of chocolate and yellow cake.
The yummy filling was vanilla/almond butter cream with the same being used as a crumb coat under the brightly colored fondant. Because time was an issue (asked to make the cake at the last minute), I did not have time to dry the pastiage to make stars and letters so I used brightly colored craft foam for the stars and lettering. Also the sticks for the stars needed to be very small but florist wire kept bending so I used spaghetti to hold the stars (don’t laugh, it worked great). I then wrapped the base of the cake with a fondant ribbon.
The Little Diva Birthday Cake was delicious but what was really special was the look on my favorite little girl when “Dram” showed up with this tasty centerpiece!!!
