Homemade Einsteins Rocket Cake

Homemade Einsteins Rocket Cake

I made this Little Einsteins cake using three chocolate cake mixes; a sheet pan for the base, an oval casserole dish for the bottom of rocket and a round Pyrex dish for the top. I used mini chocolate Swiss rolls and pieces of graham wafer biscuits for the engines. The oval cake rose up unevenly in the center which worked out perfectly for the underside of rocket.

I placed Fudgeo cookies in the front for wheels and to support the cake. I frosted the cake with buttercream icing in red (no taste) and sky blue using Wilton paste. Licorice strings were used for the details and yellow candy molds for the headlights. I had cardboard figure cut-outs that I had saved from packaging to add the characters to the cake.

My son and his friends adored this cake.
