Homemade Little Mermaid Birthday Cake

I made this special Little Mermaid Birthday Cake for my little girl's 6th birthday party. She just loved it! It was a big hit! I'm not much of a cake decorator but I came here to look at other people's cakes for ideas and came up with this one.

There's a Hershey's chocolate cake with fudge filling under there. I used Wilton's recipe for their buttercream frosting, for the decorations and the outside of the cake. The frosting was so easy to work with and tasted just like bakery icing. I almost felt like I knew what I was doing for a minute there!
