Homemade Little Mermaid Birthday Cake
Since my little daughter loves Ariel, I decided to make a Little Mermaid Birthday Cake for her birthday. Fortunately, I found this website and collected ideas from all the previous cakes submitted to make my own.
I baked the pound cake from usual cake mix. However, I don't use frosting or icing sold at the stores because it's too sweet for me. I mixed butter with whole milk and sugar to blend a decorating creme that soft and creamy. I used a Barbie doll for Ariel and taped her legs together to make the mermaid tail. I then used a wire to attach her legs onto the cake so that she could sit well on it.
Finally, I started to decorate the cake the way I wanted although it took a while since it was the first time I made a cake like this. My daughters had a good time just looking at the cake and that was the perfect birthday cake for her 3rd birthday.
I personally think this website very cool, helpful and is full of cute ideas. Thank you very much and good luck with your decorating.
